'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fending off the bigger boys

Sam Baldock is not expected to be at MK Dons too much longer, according to what his own MK Dons manager told BBC Three Counties Radio.

A £1.2m offer was accepted from Peterborough for the striker earlier in the summer, although the move broke down and he remained a Don.

With his talent Karl Robinson knows that 'big football clubs' will be coming in for him again, although that is the minimum they will accept: 'with the talent he's got we're always going to be batting off big football clubs because of his ability.

'We accepted £1.2m and it's got to be at that point before the club will start listening to anything else.

'That's not pricing him out the ball park because he's that type of player and he possesses that quality.'

Robinson is not trying to offload the 22-year-old though and said that he is happy at the club and will remain with The Dons until the move is right.

'Success' is something his manager also thinks he deserves: 'Sam's happy playing his football here until the right club comes along for him to further his career.

'He deserves a fantastic career but he needs to start scoring goals on a consistent basis and keeping himself fit.

'People will always question him missing chances but I'll back him against anybody, he's one of the best I've worked with.'
