Burton opts for Gillingham
Deon Burton has rejected the chance to sign for MK Dons in favour of a move to league two outfit Gillingham.
The six-month contract offer, as I suspected, hasn't proven long enough for the veteran striker with a one-year deal on offer from Gillingham offering him more security so this has been accept by the striker.
Ryan Lowe's arrival was also going to make it tougher for Burton to get as much match time as he would have wanted.
At the stage of the career that Burton is at few could blame him for taking the one-year option with Gillingham as opposed to the six-months with MK could they, especially as the 35-year-old is much more likely to get more opportunities at Priestfield.
