MK Dons target cup success in first Rovers meeting

MK Dons v Blackburn

MK Dons go in search of a place in round three for the third successive season in the league cup but to do so Blackburn need to be overcome in tonight's Capital One Cup tie.

Dean Lewington (suspension) misses out following his weekend sending off. Also joining the MK Dons captain in missing out are Alan Smith and Antony Kay (both suspension) following sendings off earlier in the campaign. Stephen Gleeson (suspension) returns from his own ban though.

Colin Kazim-Richards (knee) is rated as "doubtful" for Blackburn with Ruben Rochina (hamstring) hoping to build on his return to fitness with a place in the starting XI, having been a sub at the weekend.

This will be the first ever meeting between the sides since MK Dons formed in 2004, and for a win over Blackburn they will have to do something that no other league one club has since that very year, when Bournemouth become the last side from that division to knock them out. Blackburn might have made the ¼ finals in five of the last seven-years but the last three times they have been eliminated it has come away from home!
