Bullard hangs up his boots

A long-term knee problem has seen Jimmy Bullard call time on his MK Dons career, and footballing career entirely, after just two appearances since his arrival at The stadium:mk.

The 33-year-old signed a short-term contract with MK Dons a little over a month ago following his release by Ipswich but has decided that his knee can no longer stand up to the demands of professional football and has opted to retire.

Bullard has been a really good professional during a career that's been blighted by injuries, and probably cost him the chance of playing for England (with him twice called-up) even so he still managed to make over 300 appearances in a career that saw him at West Ham, Gravesend, Peterborough, Wigan, Fulham, Hull and Ipswich before finishing with MK Dons.

I'm sure that all will wish Jimmy all the best for the future.
