FA Cup Adventure Over For MK Dons

MK Dons can now focus their efforts on getting their League One promotion bid back on track after they bowed out of the FA Cup to Championship outfit Barnsley.

The visitors were off to a flyer with Chris Dagnall (3) soon opening the scoring and it wasn't long before Marlon Harewood (19) made it two-nil.

A second half fightback was what MK Dons were looking for and they started the second half brightly. Following a long delay, which eventually saw Barnsley's Kelvin Etuhu stretched off with a head injury MK Dons pulled one back through Dean Bowditch (61).

A decisive goal almost came for Barnsley, before they did clinch the match in the first minute of injury-time when Dagnall (90+1) scored his second.

With a good 10-minutes of injury-time still to be played it wasn't 100% certain the game was up but with Alan Smith sent off soon after the chances of a fightback with 10-men were slim to none and it was Barnsley that won for a seventh time in eight games to move into the quarter finals with a 3-1 win.
