MK Dons Launch Smith Appeal

MK Dons Launch Smith Appeal

An appeal against Alan Smith's red card isn't going to come as a surprise to many really is it?

Karl Robinson clearly wasn't amused by the sending off against Stoke, and having "reviewed the situation" the MK Dons boss has confirmed an appeal will take place: 'The referee told me it was for contact in the back of the head. I've seen it back, and his contact was below the arm.

'It's a joke. Rory Delap didn't even think it was a free-kick. It's not a sending off.

'I'll appeal that. I might as well go to another dubious panel.'

Not only could the sending off be viewed as Smith having "previous" counted against him, a third straight red card in five games for MK Dons, following a run of three in as many games earlier in the season, could count against MK Dons as a club?
