Successful Op For Striker

Dean Bowditch's pre-season preparations aren't ideal as he's been forced to undergo groin surgery.

This has been successful, however he'll not be fit to return to training until August.

Bowditch will undergo an "intensive rehabilitation programme" but he'll miss pre-season friendlies so his match fitness and sharpness will be lacking so he'll be playing catch up when the season gets underway.

The plus point is that this niggling injury should now be fully cleared up.
