Baldock Extends MK Dons Stay

George Baldock has handed MK Dons an early Christmas present by putting pen to paper on a new contract.

Baldock has made plenty of first team appearances this season, making the step up will with the loan spells he went through last season seem to be paying off.

Karl Robinson was more than happy with this development.

The boss told the official website: 'George is a gifted young talent and he worked extremely hard in the closed-season to return in a fantastic shape. He has worked tremendously hard on and off the pitch to compete for a place in the first-team squad.

'Whenever he's played this season he's done remarkably well and I think now he's managed to step out from the shadow of his brother and develop his own relationship with the supporters at stadium:mk.

'George is young, energetic and passionate and can play in a number of different positions. He's exactly the sort of player I want at this football club and I'm delighted to have secured his services for the foreseeable future.'

As Robinson said it's not always been easy for George, as he's often lived in Sam's shadow but he's definitely come into his own and shown himself to be a quality footballer that looks like he'll have a good future ahead of him.

This future will be at stadium:mk for the next two and a half years at least, as this new contract (that would have expired in the summer) will take him through until June 2016.
