Great To Win Games Like That
When you can win a game in the dying moments it's also a great result, when it goes against you not so.
This is what Milton Keynes Dons managed to do at the weekend when a last gasp goal gave them a 2-1 win over Oldham Athletic at stadium:mk on Saturday afternoon.
Remember the famous Brian Kidd celebration for Manchester United in the early 1990s when they scored two injury-time goals to beat Sheffield Wednesday on the way to their first Premier League title? Karl Robinson does as he celebrated like he did as he enjoyed the late win.
The MK Dons boss said: 'It's great to win games like that - there's nothing like it for the fans or the professionals as well.
'I celebrated like Brian Kidd almost when it went in - I slipped over three times, pulled my groin, dirtied my trousers!'
He wasn't so happy at half time though and made his feeling to the players well know. With one player in particular feeling the brunt of his disappointment but Samir Carruthers answered his criticism.
Robinson added: 'It may have looked like we were half-hearted in the first half, which wasn't in the game-plan at all.
'I had a bit of a go at Samir at half-time - I just felt he was poor by his standards - and I said to him if he wants to be a good player then he needs to score goals and he shoved one right up me there!'
Adam Lockwood had given Oldham the half time lead before Carruthers' fine goal and the late Ben Reeves goal turned the game in the home sides favour and brought them the three points. Oldham also finished with 10-men after Genseric Kusunga got sent off for two bookings.
The win has brought MK Dons back into league one play-off contention but Robinson isn't thinking too much about with the next game against Preston is all that he is going to 'worry about.'
