Two-Year MK Dons Extension For Potter
One of the players that would have been hoped was going to sign a new contract, having been offered one by Milton Keynes Dons, was Darren Potter.
Ahead of the weekend game, which ended in disappointment for a much depleted MK Dons side, there was the positive news that Potter had indeed put pen to paper on the new contract that was offered to him.
Potter has signed an extension that will keep him at the stadium:mk until 2016.
Quite clear Karl Robinson was more than happy to tie down the 28-year-old midfielder, who is recovering from an Achilles injury.
Robinson told the official website: 'I'm over the moon. He's been consistently one of our best performers over the past three seasons.
'Every team has an integral part of the group and I'm sure that the players would agree when I say that he's huge for us and the development of our young players.
'He could be out for the rest of the season with that Achilles injury but we know he'll be 100 per cent for the next campaign. He's a unique character and I'm ecstatic to keep him because he was one of my first signings as a manager.'
Another couple will sign new contracts too, all being well, according to the MK Dons boss.
Contracts, first professional ones, were also signed by a quartet of academy players with Brendan Galloway, Harry Hickford, Will Summerfield and Giorgio Rasulo all tied down to contracts at the end of last week too.
