Carruthers Injury Forces Villa Return

Carruthers Injury Forces Villa Return

As anticipated Samir Carruthers has been forced to cut short his loan spell and has returned to Aston Villa.

Carruthers had been enjoying a successful loan spell with Milton Keynes Dons but a knee injury recently left this in doubt and a return to his parent club had been looking increasingly likely and this was confirmed on Thursday.

The severity of his injury isn't yet known but there was little option but for him to return to his parent club.

An official statement from MK Dons read: 'Midfielder Samir Carruthers has returned to parent club Aston Villa for further assessment following a knee injury.

'The extent of the problem is not yet known but the Club would like to wish Samir all the best with his recovery.'
