Robinson: This Is A Cup Final

Can Milton Keynes Dons get back into the league one play-off race? It's certainly the hope but victory at Swindon Town is a must if this is going to happen.

Karl Robinson has billed this up as a 'cup final' for MK Dons and wants to use the incentive of potentially moving up to seventh, just outside of the play-offs, as the added incentive to come away from the County Ground with the points.

If this is this case, and the play-offs remain in touching distance, the boss looks set to ask for the funds to bring in a player or two on loan to push on and make the play-offs as he'll need more options due to the injury list at stadium:mk.

The MK Dons boss told the Milton Keyes Citizen: 'This is a cup final. What a ding-dong of a game. We have put ourselves in a position to go and beat Swindon at the County Ground. It could be our biggest win of the season.

'It's a massive afternoon. With Walsall playing Wolves - if we win, we could go seventh. What an incentive that is. One place outside the play-offs.

'And if we do, we've got to have a serious look as a football club - do we bring players in and do we go for this? It's as simple as that.'

Swindon holds fond memories for Robinson as he was a YTS player with the club but injury held him back, so he's looking forward to returning and visiting the family that he lodged with but hopes to come back with the points to then pose some questions to the board.
