Club And McLeod Head In Opposite Ways

Izale McLeod remains the Milton Keynes Dons all-time top goalscorer but his days with the club are now over.

Having made the emotional return to stadium:mk in January last year in 53 further appearances he added another 11 goals to his tally but even though a clause could have been activated to see him stay for another season it was agreed by both parties not to do this.

As such, when his contract ends at the end of June, the 29-year-old will become a free agent.

Karl Robinson has nothing but respect for McLeod but given where he wants to go with this club, and what his vision is, with the striker not part of this future he was honest with him and it agreed that he moved on.

Robinson told the official website: 'I respect (Izale) as a person and as a footballer as well.

'I told him that I'd made my decision as to where I wanted to go with the team and unfortunately he wasn't part of that.'

McLeod leaving shouldn't really surprise anyone as it has seemed as though this was going to be the case all season but would you have kept him?
