Gleeson: I Couldn't Refuse Offer
Stephen Gleeson has already made it clear that he left Milton Keynes Dons recently with a 'very heavy heart' but the chance to play in the championship couldn't be refused.
The midfielder, signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers five-years ago, made the decision to reject a new contract offer and accepted a two-year deal from Birmingham City as it gave him the chance to play at a higher level.
It was hard to move on but after declining the chance to move on in 'three out of the last four seasons' it came to the point where he couldn't refuse again.
Championship football with MK Dons is what he, and we, wanted but it wasn't to be with the Birmingham move 'feeling right' for him.
Talking to the official MK Dons website he said: 'Three out of the last four seasons I`ve turned down opportunities to leave but this one, at this point in time, felt right.
This is an opportunity, to play in the Championship, I couldn't turn down. I really wanted to do it with Milton Keynes but this year it was right to move on.'
The Republic of Ireland international will be a big success at St Andrews, if he's not Karl Robinson wouldn't think twice in bringing him back I'm sure.
