'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jamie Smith Transfer Listed By Dons

MK Dons defender has been told he can leave the club after putting in a transfer request.

Smith, who has just returned to full fitness after being sidelined since November with a knee injury, feels his opportunities to get into the first team will be limited given recent signings.

Whilst sidelined both Gareth Edds and Drissa Dialo have played in his position and both have done well. The addition of defender Jude Stirling bought from Peterborough during the current transfer window, will make it difficult for Smith to get regular fisrt team action.

In an announsement from the club earlier today, Dons boss Martin Allen is quoted as saying 'I most defnitely do not want to lose him as he is a model professional and a very good player. He is now fully fit and well but we have strength in this position and I cannot deny that it could be frustrating for him not playing.'

Former Bristol City player Smith, 32, was Martin Allens first signing for the Dons when he took the reins of the club at the start of the season.
