Tuesday night saw MK Dons claim their biggest win since they were formed in 2004, but against one of the world`s biggest teams in Manchester United.

Robinson made two changes, bringing David Martin and Samir Carruthers in for Ian McLoughlin and Daniel Powell.

Javier Hernandez was the first to threaten on five minutes when his low drive deflected behind skipper Dean Lewington amongst a series of chances for the visitors against a nervy Dons defence.

Kagawa was forced to leave the field to be replaced by Januzaj on 20 minutes, just as the Dons started to relax and become more confident with the game.

And it paid off, when on 25 minutes Reeves intercepted a poor pass from experienced centre-back Jonny Evans, and managed to force it through to the on-running Grigg who finished it expertly past De Gea.

Carruthers then produced a stinging 25-yard drive while, at the other end, Nick Powell fired a similar effort just over the bar.

Strong penalty appeals at the start of the second half were waved away after a shot from Bowditch appeared to strike the hand of Evans.

On 63 minutes Reeves and Grigg combined again when the midfielder powered down the left hand side to deliver a looping cross to Grigg, who managed to make a chested finish look elegant as the ball rattled home past a scrambling De Gea.

Dons fans could barely believe their eyes when on 70 minutes Reeves played in substitute and Arsenal loanee, Benik Afobe, who finished calmly. The 22-year-old`s effortless third assist of the night epitomised a fantastic performance.

And fans started to take pictures of the scoreboard as evidence of the unbelievable scoreline when on 84 minutes Afobe bulldozed through the United defence and coolly slotted his second past De Gea for the Don`s fourth.

Adnan Januzaj managed to hit the post deep into the second half, but that was all the visitors could produce as the whistle blew on one of the best nights in the Don`s short history, and one of the biggest cup upsets in recent times.

You can continue to roll off staggering figures following this match, like the fact that the Don`s annual wage bill of about £3 million only just scrapes the £59.7 million United have just paid for Di Maria, but there`s no doubting about how convincingly the 'minnows` beat the Red Devils.

And now very different Red Devils await the Dons on Saturday in Crawley Town.
